Sadly, comrade Michael Balchin died on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at the age of 92.
A life-long supporter of the Soviet Union and of Stalin, and an opponent of revisionism, comrade Balchin was a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB) from the 1930s.
Although he remained a member through the period of the British Road to Socialism and then went on to join the Communist Party of Britain (CPB) when the CPGB was disbanded, we remember him for his personal anti-revisionist stand.
This was particularly manifested by his active membership of the Stalin Society for many years and his staunch support for the record of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the leadership of Comrade Stalin.
We will miss him and we send our deepest sympathy to his family.
